CARTHAGE R-9 SCHOOL BOARD ANNOUNCES VANSLYKE AS NEW CJHS ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL

Carthage Junior High is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Josh VanSlyke as the new Assistant Principal, effective for the 2024-25 school year. With a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to our school community, Mr. VanSlyke brings a decade of educational expertise to his new role.

Having been an integral part of Carthage for the past 4 years, Mr. VanSlyke has served as a dedicated educator, teaching Pre-Algebra, 7th and 8th-grade math, co-teaching Math and Math Focus. His involvement extends beyond the classroom, as he has also coached junior high football, basketball, and track. Mr. VanSlyke's multifaceted contributions showcase his passion for both academic excellence and the overall well-being of our students.

Expressing his gratitude, Mr. VanSlyke stated, "I am incredibly honored and humbled to be given the opportunity to act as assistant principal at Carthage Junior High. I love the students and staff at CJHS and the family atmosphere they create. I am looking forward to this new adventure and the pride it will give me to be a part of continuing the extraordinary things the Junior High has to offer."

Newly promoted Head Principal, Mrs. Brittany Bridges, shared her excitement about Mr. VanSlyke's appointment, saying, "We are very excited for Mr. VanSlyke to become the next assistant principal at Carthage Junior High. He brings over a decade of experience in education, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and fierce loyalty to CJHS. His exceptional qualities make him an outstanding choice for the next assistant principal."
